Grist Integration – Databases, Embedded

Embed Grist tables and views into your Layers page with a link

  • Data
  • Database
  • Collaboration

Manage your data with Grist and embed its tables and views into your documents.
Paste a link to a Grist page, and Layers shows it in a frame that displays the current data whenever the page is opened.

Why Use Grist in Your Editor?

Grist is a flexible, powerful database tool — and this integration brings your data right into your workspace.

Key Features:

  • Embed a Grist table or view from a getgrist.com link
  • The frame shows the current data whenever the page is opened
  • Filtering, sorting and editing work in the frame if Grist and the document’s access settings allow them
  • Rich data types such as images, links and text appear as in Grist
  • Access is controlled by Grist: private documents may ask viewers to sign in

Use Cases

  • Add product inventories or order tracking systems to documentation
  • Embed shared task or project tracking databases
  • Show team performance metrics
  • Include data-driven insights and reports inside your project docs
  • Keep resources next to the pages that use them

Data in Context

Your data stays in Grist — and appears right in your page, where your team works.

How it works in Layers

  1. 01

Open a page in Layers Pages.

  2. 02

Type / and pick “Grist” in the Embeds section.

  3. 03

Paste the link — the content appears in a frame right in the text.

Layers does not ask you to connect a Grist account. Public and link-shared content opens right away; for private content the frame may ask you to sign in to Grist itself.
