Give me the date your flight should have landed, and I will show you the last day you can still go to court.
Attach every receipt, even small ones. A claim without proof is the first thing to be refused.

The rules, with the source

The 2026 amendment also raised the liability limits in the Fourth Schedule (international carriage) and the Fifth Schedule (domestic carriage). Whether a cancellation caused by airport closures or security alerts gives a right to compensation beyond the refund depends on the facts and the airline's conditions; the letter claims the refund and documented expenses and asks for the reason in writing.
Step by step
What to do, in order
1
Collect your proof
E-ticket, payment receipt, the airline's SMS or e-mail about the cancellation or delay, and every receipt for hotel, food or a new ticket.
2
Fill in the table
One line per passenger, then each expense with its amount.
3
Ask for money, not a voucher
The letter asks for a refund to your card or account unless you agree to a credit in writing.
4
Send it with proof of delivery
By e-mail to the address on the airline's website and by courier or registered post. Copy your travel agent.
5
Wait 15 days
Answer quickly if the airline asks for documents. Keep all replies.
6
Consumer Court if needed
File within 2 years. Bring the letter, the proof it was received and your receipts.
Questions
The airline offered a voucher. Do I have to take it?
The letter asks for a refund in money unless you agree to a voucher in writing. If you accept a voucher, write down its value and expiry date.
I bought the ticket from a travel agent. Who pays?
Send the letter to the airline and a copy to the agent who issued the ticket, so both have the claim on record. Attach the agent's invoice.
My Umrah package was lost because of the cancellation. Can I include it?
List it as an expense with the package invoice. The airline will answer item by item; the tour operator is a separate claim.
