TIN number — how to get one, and your TIN card

Newly hired with no TIN: your employer registers you in ORUS (Form 1902) within 10 days of hiring. You need a government ID. If you need a TIN for a government transaction or as a first-time job seeker, use Form 1904 at the RDO where you live. Both are free. Self-employed: Form 1901 and a ₱30 documentary stamp. The first paper TIN card and the Digital TIN ID are free.

Free for employees, EO 98 applicants and first-time job seekers. Self-employed pay a ₱30 documentary stamp. The ₱500 annual registration fee is no longer collected.

How long does it take?

In ORUS usually 3 days. At the RDO about 6 hours for employees and EO 98, 1 day for business registration.

I already have a TIN from my old job. Do I need a new one?

No. You keep one TIN for life; having two is criminally punishable.
