OEC and contract verification — when the Travel Pass is enough and when the MWO must check your contract

Short answer. Going back to the same employer and country? The digital OFW Travel Pass in the eGovPH app is your exit clearance, valid for 90 days. Your contract needs verification only if you were never registered, changed employer, changed jobsite country or changed position.

Checked on 2 November 2026 against DMW Advisory 38-2025. The MWO Singapore lines are that office’s own words, and its site did not open on that date. Singapore’s rules are an example: other offices may ask for other papers and fees. Check with your MWO before you book a flight.

Questions

Is the OEC gone?

For workers returning to the same employer and destination country, the OFW Travel Pass is the exit clearance, under DMW Advisory 38-2025. Other cases still go through the MWO or DMW.

Do I need to verify my contract at each renewal?

No. MWO Singapore says only when you were not registered or changed employer, jobsite country or position.

How long is an OEC valid?

60 days for new hires and 90 days for rehires under the DMW Rules. The OFW Travel Pass is valid for 90 days.

I have no DMW record. What now?

MWO Singapore verifies the contract, then you book the nearest DMW office on your return to request the OEC.

How much does verification cost?

It depends on the office. Singapore charges SGD 15 in cash.
