Christmas budget · weekly saving

Your Christmas in euro — and how much to put by each week until Christmas Eve

Who you're buying for, Santa, the Christmas dinner, the tree, Kris Kindle and getting home. You see the total, the weekly amount until 24 December and a present list to print.

  1. Put by the weekly amount — the plan shows every date until Christmas Eve.
  2. Print the present list and tick off what you've bought and wrapped.
  3. Order online early: check each shop's last delivery date before Christmas.

All amounts are yours: the fields show examples, not prices or averages. Weekly amounts run from today until the week before your date, rounded up to the euro; the last one evens out. Not financial advice.

Questions

How much should I budget for Christmas?

What you decide before you shop: set a limit per person and for Santa, add the dinner and decorations, and let the total show what that means each week until Christmas Eve.

How much does Santa cost per child?

There's no right figure — pick yours and put it in the 'per child' field. The planner shows what it adds to the weekly amount.

How do I stop overspending?

Write what you actually spent next to each present's budget: in the Excel file a present that goes over turns red.

Is there an Excel version?

Yes: the budget with formulas, the weekly plan and a present list with 'bought' and 'wrapped' boxes. It also opens in Google Sheets.

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?

It's free and you don't need an account: fill it in and download. With a free account you can save a copy to your Layers and come back to it later.
