Super missing from your fund after payday? — letter to your employer ready, due date counted
Short answer. The letter to your employer is open below: list your paydays and what reached your fund. When super is due: Received by your fund within 7 business days after payday (ATO — Payment deadlines for Payday Super (earnings paid from 1 July 2026)).
- Super must be received by your fund by (7 business days): type the date
- First contribution for a new job or a new fund: received by (20 business days): type the date
Working days: Monday to Friday; public holidays are not deducted. Check your own case.
From 1 July 2026 a super guarantee contribution is on time if your fund receives it, with the information needed to allocate it, within 7 business days after the payday (the 'QE day'); for the first contribution for a new employee or to a new fund, 20 business days (ATO, Payment deadlines for Payday Super). Our calculator skips Saturdays and Sundays only. Public holidays that cover a whole state or territory anywhere in Australia are not business days either, so the real due date can be a day or two later.

For the first contribution for a new employee, or to a new fund, the employer has 20 business days after payday.
Does this apply to pay from before July?
