All amounts are yours: the fields show examples, not average prices. Monthly instalments from today to the month before the wedding, rounded up to whole francs; the last one balances. Civil marriage: Law 32/2016, Art. 166–168; Irembo — Thursday free, another day RWF 50,000 (21/10/2026, check at the start of the year). Not financial advice.

Questions
How much does a wedding cost in Rwanda?
It depends on the number of guests and on what the families agree. For example 300 guests at RWF 8,000 each, a gusaba of RWF 1,500,000, an inkwano of RWF 1,000,000 and the usual items add up to about RWF 12.25 million — these are example figures, not averages. Put in your own quotes.
Is the inkwano (dowry) required by law?
No. The law recognises gusaba and gukwa as traditional ceremonies before the civil marriage, but the validity of the marriage does not depend on paying the bride price (Law 32/2016, Art. 167).
How do we register the civil marriage?
Apply on Irembo at least 23 days before the date. The civil marriage takes place at the sector office where one of you lives; Thursday is free, another day costs RWF 50,000. You must both be at least 21.
How does the committee’s money count?
Enter what the wedding committee has already paid in as «already saved». The Excel file has a pledge sheet: who promised what, who has paid, the balance.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It’s free and you don’t need an account: fill it in and download. With a free account you can save a copy to your Layers and come back to it later.
