Questions

How is redundancy severance calculated in Serbia?

One third of the average monthly pay of the last three months times completed years with the employer (Arts 158–159). With RSD 135,000 and 12 years: 45,000 × 12 = RSD 540,000.

How much is retirement severance in 2026?

At least two national average salaries per the latest Statistical Office figure (Art. 119). With July 2026 (RSD 167,402 gross): RSD 334,804.

Gross or net average salary?

The law says «average salary in the Republic of Serbia»; the Statistical Office publishes the gross figure under that name and the net one as «pay without taxes and contributions». Check your employer’s work rules.

Do I get severance if I resign?

No: Art. 158 severance is due when the employer dismisses you because your job is no longer needed. In a mutual termination, the amount is what the agreement says.
