Questions
Is the contract template free?
Yes. Fill it in and download the editable Word agreement without paying or signing up.
How many revision rounds should I include?
Use a clear number that fits the project and require one consolidated list per round. New direction or deliverables should follow the written change process.
Does calling someone an independent contractor make it so?
No. The IRS says the written label alone is not sufficient; the actual behavioral control, financial control and relationship facts matter.
When should ownership transfer?
State the agreed trigger clearly, often full payment, and identify pre-existing tools and third-party licensed materials separately.
Should a lawyer review the agreement?
Yes for important, high-value, regulated, unusual or state-specific work. This is a general drafting aid, not legal or tax advice.
