Questions

What is the notice period in Slovakia when I resign?

At least one month; at least two months if your employment has lasted at least a year on the day of delivery (section 62(2) and (6)). It runs from the first day of the next month to the last day of a month.

When does my job end if I resign on 23 October?

If you have worked there for over a year, the notice runs from 1 November to 31 December 2026; otherwise until 30 November 2026.

Can I write the resignation letter in English?

The law requires writing and delivery (section 61(1)). Many employers accept English; the letter names the Slovak terms (potvrdenie o zamestnaní) so HR knows what you ask for.

Can I leave earlier?

By agreement with the employer (section 60): employment ends on the agreed day. The document contains a ready agreement text.

What must the employer give me when I leave?

A confirmation of employment (section 75(2)), a work reference within 15 days of request (section 75(1)) and final pay including untaken leave (section 116).

Is it free? Do I need to register?

Yes, it is free and there is no sign-up: fill in the fields and download the file. With a free account you can save a copy to your Layers and come back to it later.
