Questions
How much does a wedding cost in Ghana?
It depends on your list, your guests and your city. Put in your own prices: the calculator multiplies food by the number of guests and adds the traditional and white wedding items.
What is on a traditional marriage list in Ghana?
The bride's family gives it. Common items are drinks for the family, the bride price, an engagement ring and Bible, cloth for the bride, jewellery and shoes, a suitcase, and cloth or drinks for her parents and brothers. The Excel and Word files have these as a start.
What happens at the knocking ceremony?
The groom's family visits the bride's family with drinks and an envelope to ask for her hand. It usually comes before the marriage list.
Can we do only the traditional marriage?
Yes: set the white wedding items to 0 and the calculator shows only the traditional part.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
