Questions
How much annual leave do you get in the Czech Republic?
At least 4 weeks a year (5 weeks in the public sector, 8 for teachers), counted in hours: 40 hours × 4 weeks = 160 hours for a full year (sections 212 and 213).
How is leave calculated if I started mid-year?
1/52 of the annual leave for each week worked, rounded up to whole hours. Starting on 1 June with 5 weeks: 30 weeks × 40 × 5 ÷ 52 = 116 hours.
Do I get holiday on a DPP or DPČ agreement?
Yes, if the agreement lasts at least 4 weeks and you work at least 4 “weeks” of 20 hours — 80 hours. For DPP and DPČ, 20 hours a week are used (section 77(8)).
Is untaken holiday paid out?
Only when your employment ends, at your average earnings (section 222). The calculator works it out from the hours left and your average hourly earnings.
Which days are public holidays?
The Excel file lists all days off for 2026 and 2027 under Act No. 245/2000 Coll., so you can plan long weekends.
Is it free? Do I need to register?
Yes, it is free and there is no sign-up: fill in the fields and download the file. With a free account you can save a copy to your Layers and come back to it later.
