Your bride price list in FCFA — and how much to put aside each month until the day
Copy your in-laws’ list with your prices: envelopes, wrappers, crates of drinks, wine, goats, foodstuffs, the father’s outfit, the reception and transport. You see the total, the monthly amount until the ceremony and a checklist for the day.
Want a reminder on each deposit day until the ceremony?
The calendar file works without an account. The email reminder needs a free account so we know where to send it.- Put aside the monthly amount — the plan shows every date until the ceremony.
- Print the list and tick items off as you buy them.
- Choose your spokesperson and confirm the delegation a week before.
All amounts are yours: the fields show examples, not prices or averages. Monthly deposits run from today until the month before the ceremony, rounded up to the franc; the last one evens out. Not financial advice.

Questions
What is on a bride price list in Cameroon?
Most often: an envelope for the parents, envelopes for uncles, aunts and brothers, wrappers for the mother and aunts, crates of drinks, wine and whisky, goats or a pig, foodstuffs (rice, oil, salt, soap), an outfit and gifts for the father, and the reception. The exact list comes from the bride's family and varies by region.
How much is the bride price in Cameroon?
There is no fixed price: it depends on the list and the region. In our fictitious Dschang example (80 guests) the list comes to 1,392,500 FCFA; in Mbalmayo with 150 guests, 2,605,000 FCFA. Type in your own list to get your total.
How much should I put aside each month?
What is left to save divided by the months until the ceremony. Example: 1,242,500 FCFA to raise by 17 April 2027, starting 21 October 2026 → 6 deposits of 207,084 FCFA, the last one 207,080 FCFA.
Can I add items?
Yes: the Excel file has blank lines (a pig, a bag of salt, an envelope for the sisters…) and the total updates.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
It’s free and you don’t need an account: fill it in, calculate and download. With a free account you can save a copy to your Layers and come back to it later.
