Questions
Can my employer refuse my resignation?
The law lets either party end the contract with written notice for the agreed period (Art. 43). Keep proof that you gave notice and when.
Can I leave before the notice ends?
Yes, if the employer agrees in writing. Otherwise the side that does not keep the notice period pays the other a notice allowance (Art. 43(3)).
I am on probation. What notice do I give?
At least one month if you are moving to another UAE employer, and at least 14 days if you are leaving the UAE (Art. 9).
