Term 1 2027 · monthly saving
Term 1 in dollars — and how much to put aside each month until opening day
Fees and levies, boarding, uniforms, shoes, books, transport and exam fees for all your children. You see the total, the monthly amount until opening day and a receipts log to print.
Want a reminder on each deposit day until school opens?
The calendar file works without an account. The reminder needs a free account so we know where to send it.- Ask each school for its Term 1 2027 invoice and replace the examples with the real fees.
- Put aside the monthly amount and write every payment with its receipt number in the log.
- Money short? No pupil may be excluded for unpaid fees (Education Act, s. 68C) — ask the head for a payment plan in writing.
Amounts are yours and in US dollars: the fields show examples, not school prices. The opening day is an example until the Ministry publishes the 2027 calendar. Monthly deposits run from today until the month before opening day, rounded up to the dollar; the last one evens out. Not financial advice.

Deadlines
The rules, with the source
| What | Deadline | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Fees per child | Tuition and levies × children, boarding × boarders — from each school's invoice | Your own figures |
| Back to school | Uniform, shoes, stationery and books per child; transport, ZIMSEC exam fees and extras for the family | Your own figures |
| Unpaid fees | No pupil may be excluded from school for non-payment of school fees | Education Act, s. 68C (Act 15 of 2019) |
| Monthly saving | Equal amounts every month from today until the month before opening day; the last one evens out | How the calculator counts |
All amounts are yours and in US dollars: the fields show examples, not school prices. Basic state-funded education (ECD to Form 4) is defined in the Education Act; in practice schools still charge fees and levies, which need approval.
