The template does not decide whether a sale is taxable; enter your state and local sales tax rate. Some states have their own rules for rent receipts.

Is the receipt template free?
Yes. Fill it in online and download Excel or PDF without signing up.
Does it calculate sales tax?
Yes, at the rate you enter. It does not decide which rate applies.
Can I use it as a rent receipt?
Yes — the Rent receipt sheet has the rent period, charges, amount received, payment method and remaining balance.
Does it write the amount in words?
Yes, on the payment receipt: “One Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-Four and 50/100 dollars”.
How do I number receipts?
Use the Receipt log sheet: one line per receipt keeps numbers in order and totals the amounts.
Can I send the receipt to the customer?
Send it from Layers with tracking: you see when it was opened and for how long, and you can set a reminder to follow up.
